The 2019 McLaren 600LT was launched in 2015 with one goal only. It was supposed to attract the clients who were not as wealthy, and even though McLaren Sports Series offered only 570S and 540C, now there is much more to it. For those who want to find a vehicle more suitable for the public roads, there is the 570GT, while to race-spec models are the 570S GT4 and Sprint. In 2018, the company wants to launch another version, which will be based on the 675LT. This new car will be called the 600LT.
2019 McLaren 600LT Price
Even though it is based on the 675LT, the 600 LT is going to cost much more. The 570S starts at $184,900, but the 600LT will exceed this pricing with ease, and without any options, the new car could cost around $230,000. 2019 Suzuki Jimny …
The new car is going to be displayed at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed that takes place in July.
The 600LT will not stray much from the other Sports Series models in terms of design, but with the Longtail package, the aerodynamic functions and features will be enhanced to the maximum. At the front of the vehicle, you can find a new carbon-fiber diffuser, whereas the center part is flanked by modified elements that sport vertical wings which stretch towards the front wheels. From the side, the 600LT looks almost exactly like the 570S, while the unique parts are out in the back.
The McLaren 600LT features a fixed wing and a menacing diffuser with massive vertical blades, and these are the parts that make the car authentic. The blades are located at the sides of the bumper whereas the exhaust pipes cannot be seen and that is yet another distinctive trait of the new car.
Meanwhile, the interior of the 2019 McLaren 600LT is similar to the one of the 570S, and it takes a sharp eye to see the differences between the two models inside the cabin. The 600LT borrowed the carbon-fiber racing seats form the P1, and that is the main difference between the 600LT and 570S. Speaking of the seats, together with the steering wheel, they are wrapped in Alcantara.
Considering that the new model is going to be introduced in just a few weeks, we know a lot of things about the new car. However, one of the mysteries is inside the cabin and McLaren didn’t say anything about the infotainment system the 600LT will use. Furthermore, the car is expected to come with A/C and audio system, and besides the seats, additional carbon fiber will be featured in the cabin, most likely.
McLaren didn’t want to experiment with the engine. The 600LT is going to use the same twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine that can be found under the hood of every vehicle in the Sports Series lineup. But the unit has been tweaked to increase the output to 592 horsepower or 600 PS, which served as the name source, and 457 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the 570S, the 600LT will have just additional 30hp, but add to that a lighter curb weight of the car, and you get a true beast.
The performance figures are yet to be released, but the new car is lighter and has the better aerodynamics compared to the 570S, which reaches 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. What this means is that we can expect the 2019 McLaren 600LT to hit 62mph mark at 3.1 or even 3.0 seconds. The top speed of the new car will be around 207 mph.
The new vehicle will use the new, forged-aluminum, double-wishbone suspension, but some of the other features include firmer engine mounts, quicker steering and sharpened throttle and braking response.
