The latest generation of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz B Class was unveiled in 2012 and it seems that it is ready for a facelift. German manufacturer’s MPV has been popular with the buyers, as it offers an entry-level car of a luxury brand and we are sure that the new version will sell as well as its predecessor.
2019 Mercedes-Benz B Class Spied, Rumors
A subcompact executive MPV was first introduced in 2005, as an effort by Mercedes to tap into a market its cars hasn’t been selling well traditionally. The factory was offering five gasoline, three diesel, and even a natural gas engine in a bid to appear more green and nature-friendly, again something Mercedes isn’t traditionally known for. The second generation came out in 2012 and has received a facelift in 2014. 2019 Audi R8 GT…
The redesign will take a lot of cues for the facelift A class received recently. The biggest changes visually will be a larger tailgate, which will allow easier access to the trunk and more space, and increased size of the windows, which offer more visibility.
There are also rumors that Mercedes will offer an AMG line, which would include several components like front and rear bumpers, front grill, and wheels designed by AMG.
The cabin will also receive several improvements. The steering wheel is brand new, MBUX Infotainment System is redesigned and there will be more headroom on both benches. MBUX dual-screen layout will probably be offered as the top-of-the-line option. B-Class on Wikipedia…
Mercedes is also mulling addition of the third bench, allowing the seating for seven people, although that would be a bit cramped. Some form of a semi-autonomous drive will also be presented as an option, at least for the electric version.
The engine specs will be largely the same as the previous version. A variety of gasoline and diesel engines and one electric engine will probably remain in the offer. The entry level will be 1.3 liter three-cylinder engine delivering 136 horsepower, while the most powerful version will include 2.0 liter diesel, with 190 horsepower.
On such a light vehicle, that will be more than sufficient for even the most demanding drivers. A redesigned eight gear transmission gear box will be a new addition. Mercedes will also offer a hybrid and fully electric versions as well.
Currently, B class sells for £20,530 for entry B180 BlueEfficiency SE model, going up to £30,670 for top model B220 d 4Matic Sport. The redesigned version will probably get a small bump, but it shouldn’t be more than £500 increase.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class is currently under test, with several of the new models roaming the German roads, as witnessed by the paparazzi. It should be released sometime in 2019.
