Nissan released the current Maxima back in 2015 and even though it isn’t all that fresh anymore, it still has to be one of the best looking large sedans on the US market. The car not only has a unique styling but it also comes with plenty of features for its price which makes it a favorite among its customers. Well, it looks like Nissan may be readying an update. Even though so far there has been very little information about the car, the new Maxima is likely going to be a revision of what is currently available. This should hit the market with the 2019 Nissan Maxima and it should give the car a bump in the market.
2019 Nissan Maxima Rumors and Review
While these are still just rumors, we are pretty sure the car will arrive with some changes inside and out and possibly a few upgrades under the hood. The end result will likely be more efficient, faster and more comfortable. The latter should be achieved by adding more sound insulation and by making the car a bit stiffer.
Nissan may do this by adding new underside bracing which would solve most of the current car’s issues. Another relatively weak point of the car was its braking system.
Well, things may change with the future 2019 Nissan Maxima. If the rumors are anything to go by then the car will receive an updated set of brakes which will make it a bit more controllable.
Despite being a full-size sedan, the current Maxima looks a lot more like a coupe rather than anything else. We hope things are not going to change all that much in the future 2019 Nissan Maxima either.
If this is the case then the new model will likely have quite a few things in common with Nissan’s latest sports car, the GT-R. It is likely for the Maxima to receive a similar front end and possibly a new rear three-quarter. These would make the car that much more aggressive and it would give it an even stronger lead over its rivals.
Sadly the car will not be rear wheel drive like its design would suggest, but even so, it should still stun quite a few people with its looks.
As with the exterior, the cabin of the Maxima is quite unusual as well. The car features a wide center stack on which Nissan installed quite a few controls. Well, the updated 2019 Nissan Maxima will more than likely come with a more minimalist version of this very interior.
The car should also boast a new infotainment system, likely a new instrument cluster with a larger driver’s display as well as a sportier-looking steering wheel. All of these will elevate the cabin of the Maxima and they will make the car stand out quite a bit over its predecessor.
As expected, the materials in here will not change that much which is still great as the car is known to be one of the better in its class.
Engine and Specs
So far the Maxima has been powered by a 3.5 liter V6 driving the front wheels. Chances are things will not change that much for the 2019 model. We should see a revision of the 3.5 liter V6 which could now make closer to 310 horsepower and over 260 lb-ft of torque.

|Body Style||4dr car|
Another big change will be the CVT gearbox. It is very likely for the new Maxima to receive a dual-clutch unit, possibly a 7 speed automatic. This would not only be faster but also quieter and quite a bit more engaging to drive.
The only real drawback would be a loss in fuel efficiency but Nissan may alleviate this by also offering a hybrid system in one form or another.
Release and Price
As the platform is not going to change, it is safe to assume the new Maxima is not that far from the release date. Most seem to suggest Nissan will reveal the car in the upcoming weeks but they may also decide to wait and release it at a later time. In both cases, the car would hit the market by the end of 2018 and its price should remain the same as before, at least for the regular models.
