Is it too early to start with the testing of 2020 Honda Pilot? It could be, but the new model will arrive on the market and we need to be prepared for it, once it comes. What can we expect from the new model?
2020 Honda Pilot Redesign
Honda showcased the new Pilot a few years back and what is going to be a 2020 model has been caught on camera. We are not sure what changes to expect on the new model, considering that the current variant of the Pilot is underpinned by a new platform and it looks handsome. 2020 Honda CR-V – read about…
The vehicle which has been spotted has the nose covered in dark camouflage. As we have already mentioned, it is hard to determine at this point what Honda’s plans for the Pilot are. If camouflage is to be trusted, front fascia will be changed, which means that the new model will feature different grille, front bumper and a new set of headlights.
Some believe that the taillights will go through the similar treatment. Sources close to Honda claim that the 2020 Honda Pilot is going to look like the Honda Accord when it comes to the exterior design. As for the cabin, nothing extraordinary will happen there. The eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will remain intact.
The changes to the exterior and interior are minor, but Honda might take a peek under the hood. The company plans to add a plug-in hybrid to the range, and it will be similar to the Honda Odyssey. Meanwhile, the Honda Accord will source the powertrain.
As for the engines, the 2020 Honda Pilot will keep offering the 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The six-speed automatic gearbox will be offered to those who opt for the LX, EX and EX-L models while Touring and Elite trims feature a nine-speed gearbox.
We expect to see the new Honda Pilot by the end of the year as the new car will go on sale in 2019. That is the most likely scenario unless Honda surprise is with the early release, but there is no need to rush.
